Covid-19 Vaccinations

Information from the NHS about the Covid-19 vaccination program, including the option to book and manage a vaccination appointment

COVID Update 14th December 2021

The COVID Omicron variant is highly contagious and we believe booster vaccines are essential to protect our population.

We will be inviting adults to Boosters at the medical centre over the coming weeks -please do not call us, we will call you once we have the vaccines on site.

You can also book at the National Booking Service here.

COVID-19 booster vaccine

Some people may be eligible for both the flu and the COVID-19 booster vaccines.

If you are offered both vaccines, it's safe to have them at the same time.

COVID vaccination certification.

We are unable to issue this certificate at the practice.

Please see www.gov.uk/guidance/demonstrating-your-covid-19-vaccination-status-when-travelling-abroad for further information.

Proof of your vaccination status will be available on the NHS App

The NHSapp can be downloaded from apps.apple.com/gb/app/nhs-app/id1388411277 for iPhone or play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nhs.online.nhsonline for android.

Alternatively, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine, the letter may to take up to 5 days to reach you.

Covid vaccinations for people aged 18-49

The NHS has now started phase 2 of the covid vaccination programme, vaccinating the healthier population aged 18-49.

Lamberhurst Surgery will not be offering vaccinations to this cohort of patients. You will be invited by the NHS to have your vaccination at a mass vaccination centre or a pharmacy, or pharmacy led site, within 45 miles.

Unfortunately we are unable to help with vaccination enquiries for this group of patients. When you are eligible you will be contacted by the NHS with details on how to book your appointment. Please be patient and wait for your appointment, this is the biggest vaccination programme of its kind and it will take a while for everyone to be vaccinated. The NHS aims to have given all adults the first dose of the vaccine by the end of July 2021.

If you have a query about an existing appointment that has been booked through the national booking service please call 119 or visit www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination. The practice is unable to help with these enquiries.
